One of the most notable looks at New York Fashion Week was the square cap tips at Cushnie et Ochs. Madeline, Poole, accented the models’ nails with Christian Louboutin’s Beaute’s Ni Toi Ni Moi or Wherever over two coats of Sweet Charity, according to Style.
“I had an intuition we would be using a small square motif, and [designers] Michelle and Carly had the clever idea to paint the square appliqu?s in colors that matched the collection. It’s very simple with a stunning, graphic impact.”
Rihanna was one of the first pop stars to capitalize on the nail art trend. This nail art look is a reference to Old Hollywood screen sirens, according to Jin Soon Choi.
“When you see their nails, sometimes you can see the polish growing out,” she said.
